Naomi Migliacci
Naomi Migliacci has almost three decades of experience in education. In addition to teaching, she writes and develops professional development programs for schools, districts, universities, and countries as an international education consultant. Her focus is on designing standards-based curriculum and working with teachers around the world to design and use instruction that works with culturally and linguistically diverse learners.
Naomi's style of teaching through experiential activities ensures that her workshops are memorable and immediately useful. Naomi is an advocate of school reform and redesign for all learners and passionate about engaging learning events for young people. She is co-editor of Inclusive Pedagogy for English Language Learners: A Handbook of Research-Informed Practices.
Naomi writes on topics in education focusing on the engagement of English language learners and struggling readers and writers. She has written about using students' reading levels to allow for multiple books in the classroom, enhancing vocabulary through the use of crossword puzzles, and helping students understand content with graphic organizers.
Naomi has worked on projects with more than 10 US states and in as many countries, and on projects state-side with people from more than 20 countries. While the writing she generally does is academic in nature, she also writes on her experiences and love of travel, language, culture and lifestyle.
